Audition requirements

Our music program’s goal to take a player through the stages of musical understanding and ability, so they can play his/her instrument to God’s glory.

Our beginning groups in the fall are for those just picking up the instrument, no previous lessons required. After one year of experience, students will advance to the Junior Intermediate groups.  ​

The Junior Intermediate groups are designed to accommodate the second year players and therefore the music they play must remain at the second year player level. Players may audition for Senior Intermediate at any time; however if a student has been in either Junior Intermediate band or orchestra for two years or more, that student has no need to repeat the second year level of material and is expected to prepare the audition material for placement into the Senior Intermediate ensemble. If there are concerns or questions or special circumstances, please contact the teacher or Mr. Brown.

These are the auditions for advancing to Senior Intermediate or Advanced Orchestra or Band.

Once you have auditioned into an Advanced group, there is no need to audition again.
